“The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has decided to give complimentary tickets to school and college students for the ICC World Cup matches to be played at Wankhede stadium on March 13 and 18,” said Lalchand Rajput, joint secretary of MCA in a letter sent to Rahul Shewale, civic standing committee chairman and Shiv Sena leader.

The MCA’s statement is in reply to Shewale’s letter demanding that the MCA reserve 2,000 seats for civic schoolstudents for World Cup matches.

“The MCA had announced a reservation of 5,000 seats for students in the city, of which we demand 2,000 and MCA agreed on it,” Shewale said. “It would be a great opportunity for the BMC students who cannot afford to buy tickets.”

On March 13, the Canada vs New Zealand match has been scheduled, while on March 18 the New Zealand vs Sri Lanka match has been scheduled at the Wankhede stadium.
