Even as parts of south Mumbai are reeling under water cuts, supply to some VIP residents, including the governor and the chief minister, was affected when a 12-inch water distribution line ruptured on Thursday.

Water supply to Varsha, the residence of the chief minister, Raj Bhavan, the governor's residence, and Sahyadri guest house (for government officials) was disrupted with the breakage of the pipeline.
The service line supplies water to a small part of Walkeshwar. Repair work is being carried out and should be completed by Friday.
Officials in the civic hydraulic department said the pipeline burst will not have much effect on the on-going water cut, as it is a very small line.
Meanwhile, residents tided over the second day of water cut smoothly, as they were informed about it and had saved enough water.
"We have planned the cuts in such a way that the areas will not get water on alternate days," said a civic official from the water department.
