Top heads of power companies were conspicuous by their absence at the state advisory committee’s meeting held by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) at its headquarters on Friday.

Top heads of Electricity Regulatory Commission were conspicuous by their absence at the state advisory committee’s meeting held by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) at its headquarters on Friday. Bureaucrats heading state-owned distribution, generation and transmission utilities, have a running feud with the regulator over several issues. The general manager of BrihanMumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) also did not attend.
