Coppersmith barbet is Mumbai’s official bird

The rarely seen tiny coppersmith barbet became the first official bird of Mumbai on Sunday. It was bestowed the honour at the seventh annual Mumbai Bird Race at the Maharashtra Nature Park in Dharavi. The flamingo, oriental magpie robin and house crow were other nominated birds.
