The Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies on Thursday agreed to reduce the punishment awarded to four of its students, who were caught with written notes in an examination hall, as suggested by the Bombay high court.

The students, who lost a chance to participate in campus interviews, will now complete their master in management science course by the end of this year and save six months.
Counsel for the institute, Rui Rodrigues, told a division bench of justice PB Majmudar and justice Amjad Sayed that a special examination will be held in April/May for their first semester examination, and their fourth semester examination will be held in December.
Rodrigues said results of the second and third semesters, withheld because the petition was pending before the court, would be declared in a month.
