Two senior police officers will have to appear in court in a case of alleged kidnapping and the fabricating of documents.
Mulund Court’s Metropolitan Magistrate has asked S. P. S. Yadav, Additional Director General, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and Deputy Superintendent of Police (CID) R. D. Khade to be present in court on March 23 so that their statements can be recorded.
Police Head Constable Ashok Bhosale had approached the court alleging that Yadav and Khade had abducted him on September 2 and “wrongfully restrained, confined and obstructed him”, and fabricated documents.
Bhosale has alleged that the CID abducted him and forced him to state that he had planted the drugs at Provogue
owner Salil Chaturvedi’s house in 2005.
The CID is investigating Chaturvedi’s allegations that he had been framed in a case of possessing cocaine. Chaturvedi was arrested by Santacruz Airport police in August 2005. He was acquitted in 2009.
The Bombay High Court had asked the state CID to probe Chaturvedi’s allegations that he had been falsely implicated.
The CID had recorded statements of the officers who had arrested Chaturvedi. Bhosale was a part of the police team that had recovered the contraband from Chaturvedi’s house.
Yadav said Bhosale was called for the recording of his statement and was never abducted. “ I am not aware of his complaint but in the past too an accused in our case had moved the Esplanade court and his application was quashed,” said Yadav. He was referring to a complaint filed by an officer accused of framing Chaturvedi.

{{/usCountry}}“My client was on guard duty at Bank of Baroda when he was abducted [by CID men] and now the court has prima facie accepted the complaint filed by my client,” said Bhosale’s advocate S. T. Markandey.
“The court has called the accused before it.”
