Dalit killings: Asaduddin Owaisi visits Javkheda, seeks CBI probe

"The killings were barbaric. We seek a CBI probe into the issue," Owaisi said, after visiting the village on Saturday.

MIM MLA from Aurangabad central Imtiaz Jaleel, who accompanied Owaisi, said the party will raise the issue in Parliament.

Meanwhile, Rashtriya Ekta Manch, an NGO of Congress Rajya Sabha MP Husain Dalwai, on Saturday staged protests in Mumbai to condemn the killings and demanded appointment of a panel to probe such matters, and also a separate committee under a judge for the protection of the victims.

CM Devendra Fadnavis had recently asked state DGP to probe the gruesome murder of three members of a Dalit family in Ahmednagar district last month.

He had asked the DGP to probe the matter and submit a report.

Governor C Vidyasagar Rao had recently directed the DGP to appoint a Special Task Force (STF) to probe the murders after meeting a delegation led by RPI president Ramdas Athawale at the Raj Bhavan in Mumbai.
