Day 6: Aspirants get rescheduled dates, glitches continue

MBA aspirants, who could not take the Common Admission Test (CAT) as scheduled, have started getting e-mails about their rescheduled dates, reports HT Correspondent.

MBA aspirants, who could not take the Common Admission Test (CAT) as scheduled, have started getting e-mails about their rescheduled dates. They were supposed to get the new dates within 48 hours after their test was cancelled, but the updates finally came on Thursday, the sixth day of the ten-day exam.

Prometric, the US-based agency conducting the exam, has put up basic information (FAQs) about the rescheduling on its website. Unfortunately, these FAQs came a bit too late for the five aspirants, who gave their exam again on Wednesday, from Saraswati Engineering College in Navi Mumbai. Aspirants who had given the test once have been asked to ignore any SMS asking them to take the exam again.

Across the country over 8,000 aspirants have been unable to take the exam, but the IIMs have promised that everybody would get to take it.

Day six of the test was marred with glitches with servers at labs in Saboo Siddik College and Fr Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering, Bandra crashing during the first session. “Our batch of 50 students was made to wait for three hours with no information and then we were told we had to take the test in the next batch. It was chaotic and we had only a 30-minute break before the test,” said Shemal Gandhi who took the test at Saboo Siddik Engineering College.
