A high-level team of officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) inspected the Mumbai airport on Saturday.
The inspection was held in view of the recent spate of near misses, mid-air and operational scares at the airport.
The team, led by DGCA' Joint Director General AK Sharan, inspected the cross runways and held meetings with stakeholders, including airline operators, management and Air Traffic Control.
A spokesperson from the Mumbai Airport International Limited said that "operational issues were discussed" and refused to comment further.
The team inspected various facilities, including those relating to passengers, navigation, communication, ATC and runway lights.
On June 9, a Blue Dart cargo flight damaged 20 runway lights and exposed several flights to land on the runway with glass shards scattered across it.
On Friday, hundreds of residents near the Sahar airport had protested against the safety lapses at the airport.
