In the bedroom, a tray pulled out from the locker lay flung on the bed and the diamond and gold jewellery worth Rs 40 lakh was missing. Also missing was her domestic help of 10 days, Sunanda. Following Goyal’s complaint, the police are on the lookout for Sunanda (35), who allegedly stole the valuables on Thursday before fleeing.

Goyal had left for school in the morning and her husband and 23-year-old son had left for work. All they knew was her first name, the police said.

“The Goyals had not registered Sunanda with the police and didn’t even know where she stayed. We are inquiring as to how Sunanda approached the family and are trying to get her description,” said Police Sub-Inspector Atamaram Kamble, investigating officer of the case.
