The prosecution on Monday objected to the bail application of 35-year-old advocate Janhavi Gadkar, who was arrested in a drink-driving case, stating she was involved in other accidents as well.

The RCF police on Monday filed a reply to Gadkar’s bail application. The hearing of the bail plea is likely to come up on Tuesday. The police said the investigation in the case revealed she has been involved in similar accidents as well and will repeat the same conduct if released on bail.
Public prosecutor Iqbal Solkar said the court has taken the reply on record and scheduled the bail application for argument on Tuesday afternoon.
Gadkar has been accused of drunk driving where according to the prosecution case, on June 9, Gadkar crashed her car into a taxi on the wrong side of the Eastern Freeway, killing two people and injuring four others.
After being denied bail by the Metropolitan magistrate court, Kurla, Gadkar has now moved sessions court for bail. She had filed a fresh bail application before the sessions’ court on July 27.
In her application, Gadkar stated the police have recorded statements of the witnesses before the magistrate. Gadkar’s medical report and the RTO officer’s report about the vehicle has also been collected by the police.
