Drunk biker killed in Bandra mishap

A 24-man-old man was killed and two injured when the bike on which the three was riding on crashed into a divider in Bandra (East) on Friday. The victims were going triple seat on a bike, said the police.

A 24-man-old man was killed and two injured when the bike on which the three was riding on crashed into a divider in Bandra (East) on Friday. The victims were going triple seat on a bike, said the police.

"The trio was under the influence of alcohol. The rider not wearing a helmet," said UK Rathod, senior police inspector.

The incident took place around 5.30am when Raviraj Nangre, 24, left from Santacruz, with his two friends. Nangre was driving while other two were pillion riders.

All are from Abhinav Nagar at Wadala and unemployed. They were left home, got drunk and were going to south Mumbai. They were on the Western Express highway near Kherwadi junction when Nangre, who was speeding, lost control of the vehicle and hit the divider.

Nangre was thrown off the vehicle and died on the spot. They were rushed to Sion hospital where Nangre was declared dead. The man sitting in the middle slipped into a coma and has been admitted to KEM Hospital. The third rider is also undergoing treatment. Police are yet to record their statements.
