The Bombay High Court on Thursday directed the state electricity board to find a solution to prevent load shedding at Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary Certificate examination centres.
The court was hearing a petition seeking power supply for all Board examination centres.
However, the counsel for the Maharashtra State Electricity Board said the state was facing a shortage of 3,700 mega watt and it was not possible to prevent for the electricity board to exclude schools and colleges.
Petitioner Parag Jadhav had contended that the state and the electricity board had done nothing despite specific directives from the high court last year.
In March, the SSC Board had given an undertaking before the HC that it will hire generators or invertors to ensure proper power supply during examinations. But many exam centres had no power, Jadhav claimed.
