A fire broke out on Monday at a dumping ground in Mulund area here, civic officials said.

A fire broke out on Monday at a dumping ground in Mulund area at Mumbai, civic officials said.

The blaze erupted at around 1.12 pm and five water tankers, one bulldozer and two water engines were deployed to douse the flames, officials of the Disaster Control department of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai said.

The fire, which is yet to be put-out, was seen in certain areas of the dumping ground spread across a vast area, they said.

On March 20, fire had broken out at the Mulund and Deonar dumping grounds in the mega-polis.
