Pune businessman Hasan Ali Khan’s wife Rheema Khan appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after the Bombay high court refused to grant her any interim relief. Rheema is a co-accused in the money laundering and tax evasion cases registered against her husband.

A division bench of justice BH Marlapalle and justice UD Salvi declined any relief to Pune businessman’s wife. She had sought quashing of the FIR registered against her and 12 others in 2007 and interim relief by way of restraining the ED from taking any coercive steps against her.
Additional solicitor general DJ Khambatta said that the ED had summoned her 23 times but barring one exception, she had failed to present herself.
“You may have a case for quashing of the FIR, but we can’t grant you such a relief,” said the judges.” Rheema then offered to appear before the ED on Thursday itself, and thrice in next week — on August 1, August 3, and August 5. HTC
