The Dahisar police are planning to felicitate the hawker for his presence of mind and good work.

The two children, Roshan Nepali, 5, and Rohan Singh, 4, are neighbours and stay at Shanti Nagar Dongri in Dahisar East.

Around 2.45pm, Rupesh Bubna, 28, who sells his wares near Nancy bus depot in Dahisar, spotted the children who had strayed away from their homes while playing and could not find their way back.

Bubna approached the children to enquire if something was amiss. The children narrated what had happened, after which he informed the police control room.

The control room alerted the Dahisar police station, where Nepali's father Raju had meanwhile lodged a missing person’s complaint for the kids. A police team went to Nancy depot, took the children into custody and handed them over to their respective parents.

Ansar Peerzade, senior inspector of Dahisar police station, said: “We are planning to felicitate the hawker for his alertness and taking care of the children.”
