Even though the cloudy skies kept the day temperatures normal, the rising humidity levels made Tuesday morning uncomfortable for Mumbai.

While the humidity at Colaba was 4% above normal at 92%, it was 8% above normal at 81% at Santacruz.
Temperatures, however, remained normal. The maximum temperature at Colaba was 31.4 degree Celsius and it was 32.8 degree Celsius at Santacruz. The minimum temperature at Colaba was 26.6 degree Celsius, while Santacruz recorded 25.4 degree celsius.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this is a common phenomenon when the withdrawal of monsoon begins.
“We expect thundershowers at night. Thunderstorms occur when the humidity levels and temperatures are high. The monsoon has withdrawn till Dahanu and some northern parts of the state. It is likely to withdraw from the city in a week,” said VK Rajeev, director, western region, IMD.
