House of actress’s dad burgled

The police said the thief made away with cash and expensive watches amounting to about Rs 1.5 lakh from their house at Seven Apartments in Pali Hill Road, Bandra (West).

But the family had not given the monetary estimation of the valuables stolen, said the police.

A case of break-in has been registered against an unknown person but the prime suspect is the complainant’s domestic help, Karan, who has been missing since the theft.

“Some old expensive watches and cash has been stolen when the complainant was away. We are probing into the matter,” said deputy commissioner of police (zone IX) K.M.M. Prasanna.

The police said the family did not know Karan’s full name and had not registered him with them even though he had been employed for about three months. The family only knows that he is from Orissa.

Despite several attempts, Perizad was unavailable for comments. Her secretary Shailaja said it was a personal matter and they had not given the amount of the stolen valuables to the police.
