'I am more confident of taking the CAT exam'

Free for all attendees, the three-and-a-half-hour workshop was held three weeks before the test. The CAT is the entrance creation to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and 150 other B-schools in the country.

Participants got a chance to interact with experts and current IIM students.

"The workshop was of immense help to me because the speakers gave hands-on tips on how to work smart in order to maximise one's score in limited time. Moreover, the interaction with the IIM Calcutta students was motivating and now I feel more confident of facing the exam head-on," said Amol Paricharak, 22, a final year engineering student.

The new pattern of CAT 2011 was discussed and each student was given a '3 weeks to the CAT Workbook', which would help them do an analysis on their strength and weaknesses and plan their study schedule for the next three weeks.

Additionally, students were also taken through each section of the CAT - verbal ability, quantitative aptitude and logic and data interpretation. The workshop ended with a Q&A session between CAT aspirants and the IIM students.
