‘I lost all the money saved over 5 years’

Little did he know that Pirzade had cheated him and 27 of his friends, who, like him, had given approached Pirzade in the hope of making a living abroad.

“None of my friends are talking to me. They trusted Pirzade because of me. After we discovered that he had cheated us I had to use my savings of around Rs4 lakh to pay them back. It had taken me five years to save this money,” he added.

Yadav is the sole bread winner of his family, comprising a wife, three children and ageing parents.

He told he Hindustan Times, “I have disappointed my family. I wanted to go abroad and earn for them, so they could have a better life. But now, I have also lost the little money I had managed to save,” Yadav said.

“Initially, he said he would return the money. But later, he stopped answering my calls or replying to messages,” said Yadav.

“I even went to his home in Kalyan, where he told me that he was a police official and would get away with cheating my friends and me, as he had done with others in the past,” further said.

Pirzade was arrested on Saturday after Yadav lodged a complaint against him at the Azad Maidan police.

“I hope he is punished for he has done to me and my family. He deserves it for jeopardizing our future,” said Yadav.
