Idli vendor killed in front of customers

Incidentally, Thevar himself has a murder case registered against him in Tamil Nadu. Police found that Thevar’s father, too, had been murdered in Tamil Nadu.

Police said the incident took place at Bhima Shankar Marg, Dadar (West) around 11am on Monday, when four persons armed with choppers suddenly attacked Thevar, who was serving customers. “They slashed Thevar several times and fled,” said assistant inspector Jayendra Sawant, Dadar police station. Those present at the spot were too shocked to intervene, the officer said. After the four men had run away, Thevar was taken to the local hospital where he was declared dead.

The Dadar police who registered a case of murder, found that Thevar, who hailed from Tamil Nadu, had a case of murder registered against him there.

He also said Thevar has two wives, Rani and Rama, with the latter preparing for her civil services exams. “ Rama’s family were not happy with the marriage,” the officer said.

Sawant said, “We are investigating the case from all angles. As of now no motive can be ruled out. From the description of the accused, they seem to hail from Thevar’s native place.”
