Inspiring to write for Bachchan, Kingsley: Rekhi

Hollywood writer-filmmaker Ben Rekhi, who has written dialogues for Sir Ben Kingsley and Amitabh Bachchan in the upcoming film Teen Patti, says it was inspiring for him to write for the two giants of modern cinema.

"It was inspiring to write for two giants of modern cinema. It's not everyday you get to write for the man who played Gandhi. It's the first time an Oscar winner has starred in a Bollywood film. Besides, it's one of Amitabh Bachchan's best modern performances," Rekhi said.

On his association with the film that releases later this week, Rekhi said, "Few scenes in the movie required English dialogues. The producers needed a screenwriter who could write in English but also understand the western and Indian perspectives in story."

He said he was given three weeks to write the English dialogues before director Leena Yadav and producer Ambika Hinduja shot them in London.

Rekhi said the toughest part for him was writing the end scene for Amitabh Bachchan.
