‘Is there is a man left in the Congress?’

Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray once again raised the issue of Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s foreign origin and said that her party was “spineless” because no one dared to challenge the Gandhi family’s dominance in the party.

In a sharp editorial in the party mouthpiece, Saamna, on Saturday Thackeray said, “In Sonia Gandhi’s era, we have to ask if there is a single ‘man’ left in the Congress? If so, they would not have surrendered the party’s pride so meekly before a foreigner woman.”

Thackeray is the editor of Saamna and the newspaper’s editorial is considered to be his opinion on an issue.

Thackeray pointed out that in a party where even Mahatma Gandhi's decisions were questioned and challenged, the new trend is for the entire party to bend on its knees and accept Sonia’s decisions.

He alleged that the Congress and the Gandhi family had benefited from various scams, including Bofors, even as the country was reeling under several social problems like malnutrition in most of its states and grave security issues.
