In its reply to the Brihamumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) notice asking the private trust to return the plot after breach of agreement, the trust, Ronson Foundation, asked for more time to submit its papers.

The BMC had sent the notice on March 18 after an internal report by the local ward office and the Development Plan department found glaring irregularities in the agreement.

“The trust has asked for a hearing and time till April 7 to submit its reply,” said a civic official. Assistant municipal commissioner, K-west ward, Ramesh Pawar said they would give the trust a hearing and then decide on a course of action.

Juhu residents have been protesting against the trust, alleging that it was misusing the recreational ground given to it by the civic body under the controversial caretakers’ policy.
