‘Knife found could have been used to cut body’

A doctor from Nagpada police hospital, who examined the body of Synergy Adlabs creative head Neeraj Grover, told the court on Friday that the knife recovered from the jungles of Manor could have been used to cut the body.

Emile Jerome and his girlfriend Maria Susairaj allegedly killed Grover at Susairaj’s house at Malad in May 2008. They allegedly cut the body into pieces with a kitchen knife, stuffed it in a bag and threw it in the jungles of Manor.

Dr S. Patil told the court that the cut marks on the leg bone, produced before the court, found in Manor could be made by the knife.

“The knife had teeth in it just like a saw, and using that knife, the accused had made 12 cuts on the leg bone”, said public prosecutor R V Kini. Both the accused are in jail since their arrest in May 2008.

The prosecution also told the court that they would file a reply on Jerome’s bail application on April 22.

The prosecution has so far examined 17 witnesses in the case.
