Maharashtra ministers to visit MP to study welfare schemes

The Maharashtra government prefers Madhya Pradesh (MP) over Gujarat, when it comes to studying welfare schemes to be implemented in the state.

The Maharashtra government prefers Madhya Pradesh (MP) over Gujarat, when it comes to studying welfare schemes to be implemented in the state.

As a part of state government’s move, a team of ministers will visit MP to carry out an in depth study of the programmes implemented by the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government.

The team comprising finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, energy minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, co-operation and marketing minister Chandrakant Patil and water resources minister Girish Mahajan is scheduled to visit the state on February 19.

“We had requested the chief ministers of other states to inform us about their schemes, which have benefitted the poor. There are certain schemes in MP, which have achieved huge success. To study those schemes, we are will visit the state on February 19,” said Mungantiwar.

According to Mungantiwar, the government plans to continue this exercise for next five years. He is currently in the process of working out the state budget.

The upcoming budget, according to Mungantiwar, will be based on four areas including infrastructure, employment, agriculture and reducing the imbalance between different regions.
