In three separate incidents on Sunday, a 35-year-old BPO employee, a 15-year-old girl and a 27-year-old housewife committed suicide.

In the first case, Gally D'Souza, a resident of Santacruz (east), hanged himself from the fan in his apartment at Yeshwant Nagar, Vakola, using a dupatta. The police said that D'Souza was depressed over his inability to repay a loan of Rs2.75 lakhs. D'Souza was brought down and rushed to the VN Desai Hospital by his relatives where he was declared dead on arrival. He is survived by his wife and their one-year-old daughter.
A 15-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself at her Kashimira residence on early Sunday. No suicide note was found. "We are probing the reason for her drastic step and it is suspected that her upcoming school examinations could be the reason," said an official from the Kashimira police.
In another case of suicide, 27-year-old Seema Sakpal, a housewife hanged herself at her house in Indira Nagar. The Vakola police have not found a suicide note and are making queries with her parents.
