Man hangs self near airport

A 43-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself from a wall adjoining the domestic airport on Monday. Pandurang Ramteke, lived in a chawl near the airport with his wife and children. On Sunday night he went home drunk. At 3 am he told his wife that he was going to the bathroom.

“At 6 am, neighbours informed his wife that Ramteke had hanged himself,” said Amitabh Gupta, additional commissioner of police (west region).

Vakola police have ruled out foul play. The police said they would question Ramteke’s colleagues at the private firm where he worked to find out if he was going through a financial crisis. “Ramteke did not leave a suicide note,” said Gupta. HTC
