Man tries to set wife ablaze

A 37-year-old housewife from Curry Road suffered 60 per cent burns after her husband and a relative tried set her ablaze on Saturday.

A 37-year-old housewife from Curry Road suffered 60 per cent burns after her husband and a relative tried set her ablaze on Saturday. The victim, Shobha Vidhate, is the second wife of accused Sanjay (45). Sanjay, who had three children from his first wife, accused Shobha of not taking care of them and hit her regularly. On Saturday, Sanjay and his relative Pushpalata Mokashi, had a fight with Shobha after which the duo set her on fire after pouring kerosene. Shobha was rushed to KEM Hospital while the police are on the look out for the accused duo.
