The Borivli police, on Monday, arrested a 33-year-old man who used to allegedly steal autorickshaws and used the money earned by ferrying passengers in the stolen vehicles to buy drugs.

According to the police, the vehicle thief, Vikram Agarwal, a resident of Shastri Nagar in Borivli (West) used to abandon the autorickshaws a few days after he stole them and plied them in another area.

Agarwal even stole motorcycles from around the Borivli area, the police said.

“Agarwal was released from prison recently, in the last week of January, after he was convicted for committing similar crimes, but got up to his antics immediately after he was released and was arrested again on Monday,” said an officer from Borivli police station.
