Candidates who appeared for the last state Common Entrance Test (CET) for management institutes on Sunday, said the test was much tougher than they expected. This is the last year of the CET, which from next year will be replaced by the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT).

Around 83,000 candidates appeared for the CET this year, out of the 85,000 who had registered. Last year, around 90,000 had registered for the test, a drop that officials attributed to the introduction of the CMAT.
“The logic section especially was very tough,” said Amit Ahire, 22, who gave the test at a centre in Mankhurd. “It was much tougher than last year’s exam,” said Chirag Shah, 22, who took the exam at a Dadar centre.
“The test went smoothly, there were no problems and no complaints reported,” said SK Mahajan, director, technical education.
