Management aspirants, who took the state’s common entrance test (MAH-CET) and other entrance exams, can now register with the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) and confirm their registration by submitting the relevant documents at any of the facilitation centres, till Tuesday.

According to DTE, the date was extended to allow the students who couldn’t confirm their registration before the Friday deadline. “Around 3,000 students had registered for CAP, but had failed to register at any facilitation centre,” said Dayanand Meshram, deputy director, DTE.

The students and principals have blamed the schedule of MBA/MMS admission for the low registration rate. They pointed out that the MBA/MMS CET was held very early - in March - and the registration process is drawing to a close even before the results of graduation courses are declared and the final exams of engineering students, which form the bulk of management aspirants, are still going on.

“The students are unable to decide if they should pursue MBA/MMS, as they are yet to get their results,” said Sudip Patra, a post-graduation diploma in management (PGDM) student.
