A high-level delegation of officials from government departments and CIDCO will meet Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh in New Delhi regarding the Navi Mumbai airport project on Wednesday.

In the last meeting with Ramesh on July 6, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan had asked to speed up the project. However, Ramesh raised several environment-related objections including a change in the site.
According to CIDCO sources, CIDCO Vice Chairman and Managing Director Tanaji Satre and other officials will accompany Principal Secretary, State Environment Department Valsa Nair and Principal Secretary for Urban Development T.C. Benjamin. The delegation will present the various CIDCO reports and steps taken by it to ensure minimum damage to the environment. The report will then be put up before the Environmental Appraisal committee meeting on July 21 or 22.
