A group consisting of around six persons attacked a cinema hall in Grant Road (East) on Friday evening protesting against a movie that was being screened there. The accused fled from the spot after the incident, following which the DB Marg police registered a case of rioting against unidentified persons.

Around 8 pm, a group of around five to six men created ruckus at Super Cinema on Maulana Shaukat Ali Road, after they were infuriated by the movie title, 'Ek Bihari Sau pe Bhaari', police said. The accused assaulted the cinema hall's security guard Mohammed Zubair Aalam, 19, police said, after which they tore movie posters and damaged several windowpanes in the theatre. "There are no leads at the moment, which would help us identify them. We have registered a case against unknown persons and are questioning the shopkeepers in the vicinity for further clarity on the incident," said Ajit Surve, senior inspector, DB Marg police station.
