“Heat during the day causes convection currents in the lower atmosphere. The resultant moisture then forms clouds, which leads to rainfall,” said RV Sharma, deputy director general, western region, India Meteorological Department (IMD). “So, there could be some showers.”

Till the season ends, humidity levels will be at 70 per cent, following which it will drop down to about 30 per cent.

A few spells of rain and thundershowers have been predicted in various parts of the city for Thursday with a maximum temperature of 31 degree celsius.
