Mumbai: Man held for molesting daughter, showing her porn clips

A 39-year-old beautician has been arrested by the Tardeo police for allegedly molesting his 17-year-old daughter and showing her porn clips in his mobile. Probes revealed the accused had been sexually assaulting his daughter since 2013 and had threatened her with stopping her from attending college if she tells anything to anyone.

The accused lives in Kanjarwada area under the jurisdiction of Tardeo police. The accused, who is Punjabi, fell in love with a Telugu woman and then married her. The couple has a daughter and a 12-year-old son.

The teenager has been living with her grandfather in the same locality since she was three.

According to the police, the girl told cops that her father has been harassing her since 2013. “He first started showing her porn clips whenever he would find her alone in the house. Then he started touching her inappropriately and sometimes also made her take off her clothes,” an Agripada police officer requesting anonymity said.

When the girl protested, the accused threatened to stop her studies and withdraw her name from the college. “Intially, the girl’s mother was unaware of the occurrences as she went out to work. But it’s been nearly a year that she’s been home and so got to know about the incidents. She has supported her daughter’s allegations against the husband,” another officer said.

“We have registered FIRs under sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 506 (Criminal intimidation) and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of Protection of Children From Sexual Offence Act and transferred the case to Tardeo police station,” an assistant inspector at Agripada police station said.

“We arrested the accused and produced him in the court that remanded him to police custody. The investigation is on,” said Nagesh Jadhav, senior inspector, Tardeo police station.
