Mumbai man killed over Rs1.5L he loaned

A 38-year-old political party worker was murdered allegedly over a loan of Rs1.5 lakh in Malad (East) late on Tuesday. Within hours of the murder, the Dindoshi police arrested one of the accused, a real estate agent.

Phillips Nadar was a resident of Royal Complex in Kasam Baug area, Malad (East). Nadar had given a loan of Rs1.5 lakh to one Ganesh Mendarkar, the police said. Mendarkar did not return the money on time and Nadar would keep asking him about the payment.

According to the police, Nadar received a call from Mendarkar on Tuesday, asking him collect the money. The latter was accompanied by two other men, the police said.

“The men threw chilli powder on Nadar’s face and attacked him with a spade,” said an officer from the Dindoshi police station.

The police received a call from a resident about ‘a scuffle’ and a team reached the spot.

The police rushed a

bleeding Nadar to Shatabdi Hospital, where he was declared dead.

Nadar is survived by his wife and two daughters.
