Mumbai shows better results in SSC, HSC Oct exams this year

Only 25.88 % students passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and around 28% passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) September-October examination from the Mumbai division, including Thane and Raigad.

However, the pass-percentage was better than 2013, when only 12% and 17% had passed SSC and HSC exams respectively.

The results of the exam conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) were announced online on Tuesday afternoon.

“There is a considerable improvement in the students’ performance this year, especially in SSC results, where the pass percentage has risen by nearly 13%,” said Laxmikant Pande, chairman of the Mumbai division of MSBSHSE.

Across the state, of the 1,35,916 students who sat for SSC exams, 39,751 passed, while 25,028 of 93,510 students cleared their HSC exams.

Aurangabad has the highest pass percentage with 33.15% in SSC and 35.43% in HSC exams.

Mumbai division has ranked fourth across the state in HSC exams, but eighth in SSC exams.

This time, the registration for the September-October exams had been done online for the first time.
