Marginalia is about Mumbai and Mumbaities who live on the margins. In the magazine there is a story of a rickshaw driver who believes and practices charity.

“Sandeep Bachhe’s (the rickshaw driver) story really inspired me. I have become more sensitive towards people who are unlike us and also I have become confident when it comes to taking to strangers,” says Farzeen Khan, one of the editors of Marginalia.

Lianne John never thought going to jail would be such an interesting experience.

“A real jail is quite different from the ones shown in movies. I never witnessed anything like this before. While doing this article I learned a lot about convincing people, just getting permission for the visit was a big thing,” says Liaane.

“A lot of hard work has gone into the creation of this magazine from both our students and our award-winning journalism faculty and we are happy that this effort has been recognised,” says Dr Sunitha Chitrapu, Head of SCMSophia.

Similar was the story of students of J J College of Architecture, whose magazine Shilpasagar was 2nd runner up in the Best Magazine in Educational Institutes in the ICE awards.

Shilpasagar has been participating in ICE awards for the last two years. This year’s theme was Architecture that doesn't exist, the students created architecture that exists only in imagination.

“Our aim was to give the readers a visual example of the architecture that only existed in their imaginary world, says Prerna Damani.
