NCP revives national trade union

In a bid to challenge Congress’ domination over the national trade union, Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has revived the National Front of Indian Trade Unions (NFITU) that will flag off its strategy at a huge workers rally on Sunday.

The meet to be held in Navi Mumbai will be a show of strength rally, where NCP chief Sharad Pawar, also chief patron of NFITU, will unveil the magna carta and 19 resolutions of the trade union including a call for Minimum Wage policy for all labourers.

“As many as 52 unions have joined NFITU. Our current membership strength is around 20 lakhs and we are one of the 12 recognised national union,’’ said senior NCP leader and general secretary of NFITU, Govindrao Adik.
