The school has been facing such a lot of pressure for admissions that it has now added an extra division to accommodate such students.

On Wednesday, the principal of the school received requests for admissions from the police as well as officials from Mantralaya.

On Monday, too, the principal had received a threatening message regarding admissions from a local Shiv Sena leader.

“A police officer, who was recently transferred, came to ask for admissions on Wednesday. I even received a call from an official from Mantralaya,” said the principal on the condition of the anonymity.

He added that these people would try to use their clout to ensure that their kin and even some applicants who had been rejected were admitted.

The school claims has received 20 letters from “powerful” people.

In fact, these requests were pouring in although the school has completed its admission process and started the new academic year.

A local Shiv Sena leader, whose son had passed Class 10 from the school this year, has been trying to get two more wards admitted.

The message he sent on Monday said the school would face consequence if it refused admissions to Marathi students.

However, the principal said that they did not want to aggravate the matter by filing a police complaint.

“We want to settle the matter amicably, since the politician was also the parent of a student,” the principal said, adding that they were concerned about the security of their students.
