Pak commission examines witnesses in 26/11 attacks

Acting on a plea of the judicial commission, additional chief metropolitan magistrate PY Ladekar, has now asked special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam to produce, on Wednesday, the dinghy, which the 10 Lashkar-eTaiba operatives used, along with its Yamaha engine, cell phones and the Global Positioning System (GPS) sets used to reach Mumbai harbour from Karachi

The terrorists had hijacked Kuber, an Indian fishing boat, and used it to travel from Karachi to Mumbai. These articles are currently kept in Arthur Road jail premises.

Meanwhile, the commission on Tuesday examined Dr Shailesh Mohite and Dr Ganesh Nithurkar, who had conducted autopsies of the nine slain terrorists, who were gunned down by security forces. The doctors gave a brief account of the post mortems performed by them.

The proceedings, which began at 11am amidst tight security, lasted for four hours.

The commission has come here to cross-examine some witnesses of the Mumbai attack, in connection with the prosecution of seven suspects held in the neighbouring country for their alleged role in the horrendous terror strikes.
