Pakistan did not cooperate with 26/11 probe: Prosecution

Special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam told the Bombay High Court that the prosecution had relied heavily on the intercepted conversation to prove the conspiracy in absence of any cooperation from Pakistan.

Nikam will forward his submissions to the court when it resumes work after Diwali vacations on November 15 on the charges of conspiracy and waging war against the country.

On Friday while replying to a query from the court, he said Kasab had adopted different stands during the trial to confuse authorities on his role in the attacks.

"Kasab changed his stand by first admitting his role and then denying it because he was imparted intelligence training by his Laskhar-e-Taiba (LET) bosses in Pakistan," Nikam told a division bench of Ranjana Desai and Justice Ranjit More which is hearing the confirmation of the death sentence awarded to Kasab.

During the trial, Kasab told the court that he had participated in the 26/11 terror attacks. He later withdrew it saying he was forced by the police to say that, Nikam said.
