State Congress president Manikrao Thakre may seek explanation from senior party colleague and state industries minister Narayan Rane after he pointed fingers at the party for not asking him to campaign in the civic polls, and said that rebellion led to the party's debacle.

Thakre said Rane's remarks needed to be taken seriously at the party level. "In the first place, he [Rane] should not have said this. But since he has made this observation, I will have to ask him what made him do so."
Thakre said Rane had been to urban and rural areas for campaigning. "He had the full right and opportunity to campaign in Mumbai too."
On February 17, Rane had blamed his party's dismal performance on poor planning and rebellion. He said that he was not asked to hold rallies in too many places. "The Congress has defeated Congress," he said while summing up the overall show.
Rane remained unavailable for comment on Monday.
Thakre said that the party command had not summoned anyone to explain the poll performance, nor has it asked him or city Congress president Kripashankar Singh to quit.
