The BJP national secretary Kirit Somaiya on Tuesday demanded a permanent policy of relief and rehabilitation for the victims of terror attacks.

He said ministers make announcements about relief but bureaucrats sit over the files which results in delay. Somaiya will lead a delegation of survivors of the July 11, 2006 train blasts to Governor K Sankaranarayanan at Raj Bhavan on July 7 to make the demand. “We will also urge the Governor to issue directives for fast track courts to hear the blasts trial,"he said.
“The terror attack of July 11,2006 in seven local trains shattered the lives of Mumbaiites leaving behind 187 dead and 890 injured. Due to the inordinate delay and snail pace progress in judicial proceedings, the victims and families are still suffering from not just the traumatic experience but the long medical treatment,” he said.
