The former officials have been chargesheeted for tampering with evidence.
The court had earlier declined to entertain the intervention application and directed Chaturvedi’s counsel Rizwan Merchant to file written submissions through the public prosecutor out the grounds they were objecting to.
According to Merchant, the submissions were filed on Wednesday and the court had kept the matter for hearing on August 14.
In his plea, Chaturvedi had stated that they should be allowed to intervene in the hearing of the bail applications, as they would want to object to the same. He feared that the retired officers may tamper with the evidence or influence the witnesses.
