The Autocar Performance Show — an annual exposition of automobiles organised by the Autocar India magazine — kicked off on Thursday at MMRDA grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex.

The four-day event aims at providing aficionados opportunity to see some of the best cars available globally and in India. Enthusiasts were also allowed to sit into the driver’s seat of the fantasy cars, take pictures and closely examine each nook and corner while getting briefed about the car’s specifics.
Cars ranging right from the pricey BMW X4 to the humble Hyundai i10 were put up on display. “We've made sure that both performance and style aren't missed out on in cars across any income group,” said Hormazd Sorabjee, the editor of Autocar India. The piece de resistance was the diesel speedster, the JCB Diesel Max. Manufactured by JCB India Ltd, the 5,000 cc, 750 bhp car holds the world record for reaching speeds of 529 kmph. This year marks the first time Suzuki, Jaguar Land Rover, Toyota and Ford have showcased their vehicles at an Autocar performance.
