Rains lashed several parts of the city on Tuesday resulting in traffic slowing down and complaints of water logging reported from low-lying areas.

According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) Disaster Management Cell, the city recorded 31.3 mm of rains, eastern suburbs received 26.1 mm while western suburbs recorded 11.5 mm of rainfall from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm.
Complaints of water logging were reported from areas like Hindmata, Bycualla, Parel, Sion, Kalabadevi, Andheri, Juhu and Bandra, officials said.
Train services were running late by at least 15 minutes on both western and central lines. Road traffic was slow but there were no snarls on any of the arterial routes while the air traffic was normal, they said adding few incidents of tree collapse were reported from different parts of the city.
The weather bureau has forecast frequent spells of rain or showers in parts of city and suburbs on Wednesday as well.
