A week after a public interest litigation was filed against Lodha Developers seeking that they be restrained from giving flats under a new scheme in Dahisar without acquiring an occupation certificate from the civic body, the high court has sought a reply.

A division bench of chief justice Mohit Shah and justice DG Karnik on Monday asked Lodha Developers to file their reply within a week. The PIL, filed by activist Rajendra Thacker, alleges that Lodha Developers announced the scheme after the Thane Municipal Corporation issued a stop-work notice for their luxury township project, Casa Univis, on February 23. The petition seeks that inquiry be conducted into 26 unauthorised towers of Casa Univis and the officers concerned be held guilty at the “appropriate time”.
