A 14-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a 24-year-old newly-married man on Wednesday.

"The girl was returning home around 9pm when the accused, Vishal Koli, accosted her on her building's staircase and molested her," said Arun Sonde, police inspector, Mumbra police station.

"Koli allegedly threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident," Sonde added.

When the girl returned home, her mother found that her clothes were soiled and she was extremely frightened.

When the mother questioned her, the girl narrated the incident, following which a complaint was lodged at Mumbra police station.

A police team arrested Koli from his house at Anand Koliwada on the same day.
